Therapy is a process which is unique to each individual client, based on personal needs and goals. My role as a therapist is to assist you with identifying your challenges, and mobilize your strengths to help you positively cope with them. There are many reasons for seeing a therapist, and often they present obstacles to satisfying experiences with family, friends, work and school.
Some of the issues faced by women and girls that I can help you with:
- adjustment issues
- grief and loss
- low self-esteem
- body image issues
- relationship problems
- parenting challenges
- post-partum adjustments
- marital problems and divorce
- school and peer difficulties
- aging difficulties
I provide individual therapy, child and adolescent therapy, and parent guidance. Counseling can be brief and occur over just a few sessions in many cases. My therapeutic approach combines cognitive-behavioral strategies with family systems insights, with an underlying sensitivity to the unique perspective of women and girls. I will provide you with the support and the tools to make the change that you need to heal and grow.
If you have additional questions about specific issues and treatment options, or if you would like to make an appointment, please feel free to call me or email me directly. I will return calls and emails on the same day whenever possible. If your situation is an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
