The Key Jar - Unlock Your Child's Heart

This is an amazing tool for use at home with your own kids - and I plan to use it in my office with my client kids too.  Glennon Doyle Melton of describes the jar created with teacher Erin Waters - full of questions (keys) that show true thoughtful interest in our children/family and help us to unlock things we don't always pay attention to in our own heads and hearts.  A much better alternative to asking "How was your day today?"  (Answer = "Fine.")  The questions in this jar are open ended and meaningful - they require some insight and they inspire conversation.

I especially love the idea of using the question keys during a car trip - what a great way to get the kids to put down those phones and iPads.

This quote from the Dalai Lama was one of the inspirations for the jar:

"It is vital that when educating our children's brains,
we do not neglect to educate their hearts."

Please please please click below to visit Momastery to read the full article and print the questions (and even make the jar) to use with your family.
